Hello and Welcome to my Portfolio.
Hello, my name is Connor Gallagher. I am a 27-year-old product designer based in Manchester in the UK. I have always wanted to work in some form of art from a young age, though I seemed to have fallen into Product design, it was due to a variety of correct choices, as the moment I started learning about it I was hooked.
These decisions have led me down a career path that I truly enjoy and that I am passionate about. In 2014 I had an accident that left me having to relearn to walk and talk. Though the situation was horrible, it has had a profound effect on how I view and experience the world. Without that experience, I would not be the designer I am today; I am more emphatic in my understanding of the true needs of the intended user and work differently.
When I design now, I design for the disabled first followed by the enabled. This allows me to design a product that can be used and benefited by all. I am continually trying to improve and broaden my abilities within the design, as I am a firm believer that you never stop learning no matter how old you are. I love working amongst a team being able to bounce around ideas and be shown a problem from a different perspective. I can also work well my self-directing design and always open for criticism and feedback.
Please feel free to look through the work I hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
London Design fair 2019
As my masters was progressing, I was advised to submit my work to be showcased in the London Design Fair. I submitted my work into the category of applying quantitative and qualitative research into design. After weeks and the work being reviewed by a board of professionals my iCandy ASSIST was selected to be shown, which was a huge honour and affirmed all the effort I had put into the project had paid off.
